Post Adepticon Painting Frenzy

After Adepticon, I was inspired to do some random miniatures for WarGods. Actually, these first couple were finished before Adepticon.

First up is a weird little monster thing from the Wurmspat Underworlds set. He came on the base of the Nurgle witch, but I thought he'd be cool as a random little monster. Maybe for use in the Ankhara City of the Dead skirmish games.

Next is a fat little Cthulhu from an anonymous source.

The first from after Adepticon is this Satyr Captain. I love the Olympus Satyrs and I just wanted to paint up some more, trying to get a second unit together. This guy, since he's on a round base, will not be part of the second unit. He's mainly just for fun.

A Horde Mummy, with a shield from the Hive Scum guys at Adepticon. I have a mad need to get rid of some of my older Horde Mummies and put some new ones into the pool of available miniatures.

Finally, one of the test models for my Amazon Archers. She's been partially painted for years. I couldn't get her finished until I made myself buckle down and just finish her. Now I need to get the other one done so I can go after the rest of them.

There are a few more Satyrs that I've prepared which should be finished soon. Of course, there are also lots of other minis waiting for paint.

Two More Pack Animals for the Caravan

I have been afraid to paint any of the World of Twilight miniatures from their first Kickstarter for far too long. I was recently looking for something else when I came upon the box of stuff from that Kickstarter. There are a lot of these cool pack animals but I was still wary. So I grabbed an Enuk and a Baruk to see how much damage I could do to them.

This Enuk needed to have some bright marking on his head. I like how the red turned out, it's probably got something to do with their mating dance. I went with red because of the Okroi stripes. They probably come from the same region.

The Baruk is probably what really drew me to the Kickstarter all those years ago. The design just looks so great. I wanted to do something different with the coloring from the Enuk. Bright blue for the belly just seemed like it would be right. I really love the look of it and can't wait to paint another.

Above we have these new pack animals with the Okroi to show how the fit together in a weird way. Below, the new beast handler stands with these new guys under his care.

And Here is the updated caravan with these new pack animals tossed into the mix.

Someday, there will be more Enuk and Baruk painted up for the caravan, or maybe we need to start a second caravan?

Above, size comparison with some sci-fi 28mm minis (Raging Heroes Jailbird, GW Primaris Marine, and Victoria Miniatures Highlander ). Below, some Beyond the Gates of Antares minis (also sci-fi, but different). So these animals look lie they'll also fit into various sci-fi settings too.

The Hydra

This wonderful sculpt has been assembled and partially painted for some time now. Recently, I decided it needed to be finished so it wouldn't take up space on the painting table.

I toyed with making each head different, but in the end I liked having them each be mostly the same. For the base, I wanted to do some resin water effects. They turned out passable, I think. I should've gotten crazy with it and done some crashing waves...

I love how the tail is reminiscent of the sea monsters on olde maps. I tried to choose colors that would look like an old style monster, I think it turned out okay.

Above we have the hydra playing with a couple of hoplites. Below, the hydra and a Beloved of Sobek get ready to rumble.

Finally, the Surfer Dude Demigod (of Poseidon) faces off against the hydra.
