Another addition to the Titan Warband

My Titan Warband is slowly growing (the last Titan Slave was painted in 2022?!?!). But this latest addition is finally here.

I could not find the head that was supposed to go with this guy. I thought I had a couple of spare heads, alas there were none. So I looked at alternates. I finally settled on a GW plastic Tyranid Termagant head. I think it looks pretty good.

The painting was a little fast but not at the comfort of my painting table (still not set up because of reasons). That said, I like the way this one turned out.

Here's the newest Titan Slave with a Reaper Bones "Titan" and my first metal Crocodile Games Titan.

And here we have the Titan Slave with some Olympus folks (above) and Ægyptus folks (below).

Satsebek Giant Crocodile

This Reaper Bones mini has been based ( it's a 40x100mm base) and primed for over a year now. It's big and in my way, so I finally just hunkered down and painted it. She turned out okay.

My thoughts were to use this gigantic girl for some specific scenario (heck, she would have been great in the Big Trouble in Crocodiliopolis games at Adepticon 2023 Instagram link and another Instagram link) or something.

I went with a pretty basic color scheme and it was pretty quick and dirty. Luckily, I avoided doing water effects on the base, that would have taken too much time that I would rather spend on other figures.

Above, Satsebek with the Queen of the Crocodiles and a Sebeki warrior. And below, she's impressive even next to a Beloved of Sobek, also appearing is one of the Crocodiliopolis Spearmen who is apparently very brave.

Centaur Test Model Completed

This guy is probably the last part of the opening third of 2024's WarGods Minis Month. I've been looking for centaur miniatures since I decided to make an Amazon Demigoddess of Artemis warband dubbed "the Wild Hunt." There are other aspects needed besides some centaurs (a stag miniature has been found!) to get it finished, but the centaurs are a big part of holding it back.

Forge of Ice makes some great ape men miniatures that I hadn't even considered for part of any conversion because I wanted them as ape men. But when Wargames Atlantic came out with their plastic horses, a lightbulb went off.

While it was a shame to chop this metal miniature in half (what will I do with legs from a big ape guy?), I think it may have been well worth it.

The fur on his back is greenstuff showing my inconsiderable sculpting talents. His loincloth is from some resin conversion bits. The chain is some jewelry chain that seems a little too big. The skulls and shield are from various plastic and resin sources.

Euryale the Gorgon

Another in the neverending series of miniatures that were assembled and primed or partially painted but then set aside, Eurayle from Arena Rex. One of the main reasons I backed the Arena Rex Kickstarter was this mini (also the half snake, half lion, half giraffe monster thing that's still unassembled). I came across something random that reminded me of her and decided I must finish her off now.

She was based on a roughly 60 x 80mm base because, at the time, I didn't have a large enough round base and I wanted to use her for WarGods of Olympus as part of my Titan Warband. The ground was recently built up with some homemade texture paste and a few chunks of cork.

It took a bit to get a color scheme chosen. I was also struggling with what kind of markings to do on her body. It was between long lines down the length of her body and the randomly placed stripes I went with. Green on the snake body seems to have worked out well with the light blue/grey stripes.

I knew I wanted her human skin to be pale and decided on a more yellowish pale that helped her orangey hair stand out. I'm also pretty pleased with how her hair came out.

Here are a few normal human sized figures with the imposing Eurayle. Above, a brave Hoplite stands against the might of Euryale. Below we see a Demigoddess of Artemis approach Euryale and below that, a Beloved of Sobek charges in to tussle with the Gorgon.

Two More Pack Animals for the Caravan

I have been afraid to paint any of the World of Twilight miniatures from their first Kickstarter for far too long. I was recently looking for something else when I came upon the box of stuff from that Kickstarter. There are a lot of these cool pack animals but I was still wary. So I grabbed an Enuk and a Baruk to see how much damage I could do to them.

This Enuk needed to have some bright marking on his head. I like how the red turned out, it's probably got something to do with their mating dance. I went with red because of the Okroi stripes. They probably come from the same region.

The Baruk is probably what really drew me to the Kickstarter all those years ago. The design just looks so great. I wanted to do something different with the coloring from the Enuk. Bright blue for the belly just seemed like it would be right. I really love the look of it and can't wait to paint another.

Above we have these new pack animals with the Okroi to show how the fit together in a weird way. Below, the new beast handler stands with these new guys under his care.

And Here is the updated caravan with these new pack animals tossed into the mix.

Someday, there will be more Enuk and Baruk painted up for the caravan, or maybe we need to start a second caravan?

Above, size comparison with some sci-fi 28mm minis (Raging Heroes Jailbird, GW Primaris Marine, and Victoria Miniatures Highlander ). Below, some Beyond the Gates of Antares minis (also sci-fi, but different). So these animals look lie they'll also fit into various sci-fi settings too.
