Ankhara part 4

Finally, a return to painting Ankhara City of the Dead stuff. Mainly sarcophagi.

First, a simple obelisk from an Egyptian dungeon tiles Kickstarter that I've yet to do anything with. The piece are hydrastone or some similar material, so the weight adds up. I finally forced myself to put some washes and drybrushing on this obelisk because I wanted to see how it would turn out. Not bad but definitely not great.

Next come the last three Crocodile Games sarcophagi.

This Horus-themed sarcophagus has the same stacked 20mm bases option to give it some height. I had seriously thought of magnetizing all the kids, but decided it was madness. Maybe on the next batch?

For this open Anubis-themed sarcophagus I used a leftover Anubi head from when I converted my Tethru slingers. A little wrapping and we've got the proper sort of mummy for this one.

And the last sarcophagus has a tormented mummy in it. This and the Anubis one got soft foam offcut plinths with some texture paste. Both options worked fine, the foam option helps save 20mm bases, though.

Finally we have the Necromancer (or maybe a spell casting Crypt Lord) which is simply an olde Mage Knight Metal figure I've had for too long to remember. No modifications,  he was just right for the role.

Hopefully the next Ankhara update will attempt to contain the ferocity of the "new" Sphinx Abomination sculpt (it was released several years ago, I'm only now getting around to painting it).
